Team Gokai Six, also known as Team Gokkai Rokkyo, was a team of six (only five are seen in the anime) different demons themed after horror film monsters that participated in the Dark Tournament. Three members of the team's roster were eliminated during their three on three match against Team Uraotogi. When the fight was over, the remaining three demons forfeited the fight, fearing for their lives. Their name is indicative of their six members.

Members[]

Kyoppou - A cat-man wearing a yellow sweatshirt and black shorts, beaten into submission by Kuro Momotaro.

Nenja - A cobra demon wearing a blue sweater, killed by Makintaro.

Kyokudosan - A humanoid demon with silver hair and pointy ears wearing a black shirt and gray pants plus bandages on his arms, killed by Onji.

Werewolf Demon - A one-eyed werewolf demon with a scar on his left eye wearing a green fur coat worn open, he is one of the two survivors (three in the manga) of Team Gokai Six.

Frankenstein Demon - A Frankenstein like monster demon with a screw on top of his head, with scars on his head and body, plus a gray skirt worn open, he is one of the two survivors (three in the manga) of Team Gokai Six.

Vampire Demon - A Vampire-like demon with a black cape and pointy ears. He only appears in the manga where he is seen with his "werewolf" and "Frankenstein" teammates. He is a surviving member of Team Gokai Six as he forfeits the match and declares Team Uraotogi the winners.

Trivia[]

  • The team members are references to Universal hammer horror monsters, yet all of them have deviations from their original counterparts. This is most likely to neither Shueisha or Studio Pierrot having any of the rights to the sources of their respective inspirations.
    • Kyoppou is feline in appearance despite Universal never having a cat-like monster. He may, however, be a subtle reference to 1939's The Cat and the Canary where the main antagonist Charles Wilder was an escaped mental patient who clawed his victims to death and is given the moniker "The Cat".
    • Nenja has more snake/reptilian features as opposed to his amphibious inspiration, Gill-Man from Creature from the Black Lagoon.
    • Kyokudosan is supposedly based on Imhotep from the 1932 version of The Mummy, but he lacks any Egyptian clothing and only has wrappings on his forearms.
    • The werewolf demon is based on 1941's The Wolf Man yet his features are more canine than that iteration of the Wolf Man and he is missing his left eye.
    • The Frankenstein's monster demon is blatantly inspired by the 1931 picture Frankenstein and, instead of two bolts on his neck, has a larger screw atop his head.
    • The vampire demon most likely draws inspiration from 1931's Dracula but has messy hair, pointed ears, and a mustache unlike his regal counterpart.
